About the Project:

Hudsonville Ice Cream prides itself in making the best ice cream. They believe that “eating ice cream is an experience that creates memories” and they needed a website that would deliver an identically rich experience. Having worked with us before, Hudsonville Ice Cream was confident that they could rely on us to build a new site that could help them grow their business, and reach their enthusiastic fans.

Blue Sky Session worked with Hudsonville throughout the process starting with concept designs with their internal team, and then working with an external design team they selected to produce the new design that would deliver an unforgettable user experience. We then took the design and made it a reality by implementing it on the WordPress content management system (CMS), which makes it easy for Hudsonville’s staff to make changes to the site.

The new site also features advanced Facebook connectivity, several ways to get in touch with Hudsonville, and a ‘scoop locator’ that lets users find the nearest store or parlor where they can buy Hudsonville Ice Cream.

Web Development Internship

Job Description:
Blue Sky Sessions, a small web development firm in Holland, Michigan, is seeking a paid web development intern to start work immediately. The qualified candidate will be internet savvy, self-motivated, willing to learn to work on websites, and committed to delivering quality results.

Qualifications:
At a minimum the candidate will be internet savvy and experienced with using web applications, photo editing software, and be all-around proficient with computers. We will provide some training, but any experience with HTML, CSS, or any of the web programming languages will be bonus. We do not work in Dreamweaver – our code is hand crafted for quality reasons. Good organizational and communication skills also required.

Responsibilities:
The intern will be responsible for conducting updates on websites, formatting web content, performing website maintenance operations, working with analytics data, and other tasks depending on ability. There will also be exposure to the day to day operations of running a small business.

The Details:

• Hours – 15-20+ hours per week, flexible, to be determined
• Pay – $10-12/hour depending on experience
• Term - The position will be open ended for both parties, but we are looking for a minimum 2 month commitment from date of hire.
• Flexibility – At least some of the work required for this position can be done remotely if desired.

Park Township, on the north side of Holland, MI, has been a satisfied customer of our sister company Worksighted for a long time, so when it was time to redesign their website they trusted that we could do great things for them.

About The Project:

Park Township’s website had not had any professional help in a long time, and maintaining the site using an outdated WYSIWYG offline editor had left the site in a bad state of repair. It was time to make the Park Township site as beautiful as the scenery in the area.

We developed two redesign concepts which eventually resulted in the custom designed template seen on the Park Township site now. We integrated the custom design into an easy to use content management system, and then built out some custom features that let Park Township stay connected with its residents.
