Steel Forming Systems is a manufacturer of steel parts for the automotive, office furniture and retail display industries. The company has been around for multiple generations and has made a name for itself for providing high quality, low cost manufacturing for its clients.
Some of the things they knew they wanted to see through a website redesign were: increased web traffic, clear and concise copywriting in a less-is-more fashion with adequate white space, a “Quote Request” page which allows customers to upload CAD files, and the look and feel of a professional manufacturer (not just a mom & pop fab shop).
Through our discovery process, we also learned that many of Steel Forming System’s target customers have never heard of the manufacturing process that they use, called roll forming. Or maybe they’ve heard of roll forming but they don’t know how it works or why one might use it in lieu of other manufacturing methods.
Our solution for them was a brand new, clean, custom manufacturing website that was mobile responsive and made them look like the professional, high-quality manufacturer that they are and have been for over 25 years. We focused on generating rich content that would interest their target market, such as industry-specific case studies, a detailed description of the roll forming process and its benefits, and a brief history of the company’s roots in roll forming.
To really show off Steel Forming’s capabilities, we added a video background to the homepage that shows a loop of their manufacturing process. This helps the user get a better idea of what roll forming is while showing that they are a professional company that strives to be the best at everything they do. Their easy-to-use quote system also works to give the user the impression that they’re dealing with a professional organization.
The modern design, using the latest standards of coding and proper set-up, in and of itself helped to drive more traffic. The aforementioned keyword-rich content also brings traffic aboard. This is only half the battle. The other half is getting the traffic to interact with the content and convert into a lead. To make this happen, we placed at least one call to action (or CTA) on every page.
It is too early to give clear results yet, but one thing is certain: Steel Forming Systems is getting way more leads through their website than they ever did before. We will post an update once we have some solid numbers.
